Data Structure Interview Questions and Answers

Below is a collection of commonly asked Data Structure Interview questions and answers. The Data Structure interview questions and answers are brief and precise.

1. What is Data Structure?

The data structure describes how to arrange and work with the data. It also establishes their interpersonal interaction. Data structures include things like arrays, Linked Lists, Stacks, Queues, etc.

Many algorithms in computer science depend on data structures because they provide programmers the ability to manage data effectively.

2. What kinds of data structures exist?

Data structures may be broadly divided into two categories,

  • Linear Data Structure: If every element of a data structure is ordered in a sequential sequence, the structure is said to be linear. Each element in a linear data structure contains its predecessors and successors, with the exception of the first and final element, and is stored in a non-hierarchical manner.
  • Non-Linear Data Structure: Each item or element in a non-linear data structure is linked to two or more other items in a non-linear arrangement rather than forming a sequence. The order of the data pieces does not follow a sequential pattern.
